Pastor Jane Kamau (BCOM Mission Group) Led us in morning prayers session.
The event commenced with a powerful invocation by Pastor Jane Kamau (BCOM Mission Group), a respected Kenyan religious leader, and Father Limo, a prominent figure from the local Kenyan Christian community. Their words acknowledged the challenges faced by Kenyans in both Kenya and Burundi, including issues of security, economic hardship, and social division. The invocation emphasized the importance of faith and unity in overcoming these obstacles.
Following the invocation, a spirit of shared prayerfulness unfolded. Hymns filled the air, a beautiful blend of familiar Kenyan melodies and local Burundian worship songs. Attendees, some with eyes closed and heads bowed, offered their own silent prayers for their loved ones back home, for peace and prosperity in both Kenya and Burundi, and for the well-being of their fellow Kenyans abroad.
AKB took this opportunity to invite the Vice Chairman of AKB, Dr. Patrick Mutuo, a community leader well-versed in the challenges faced by Kenyans in the region. He reviewed AKB’s 2023 Objectives and his address focused on offering practical solutions and fostering a sense of empowerment. He discussed coping mechanisms for dealing with stress, resources available to Kenyans in Burundi, and the importance of community support networks.
The Speeches & Breakfast Sessions
The breakfast itself, served buffet-style, was a delightful fusion of Kenyan and Burundian cuisine. This culinary bridge symbolized the spirit of unity and cultural exchange that the event aimed to promote. As attendees savored familiar Kenyan dishes alongside local Burundian delicacies, conversations flowed freely. They shared personal stories, offered words of encouragement, and prayed for each other’s well-being.
By the end of the Prayer Breakfast, a sense of renewed hope and solidarity resonated among those present. The gathering, meticulously organized by AKBurundi, served as a powerful reminder that Kenyans in Burundi are not alone. Through faith, shared purpose, and a commitment to helping one another, they can navigate challenges and build a brighter future, both for themselves and for their communities. As Kenyans departed, they carried with them a renewed sense of faith and a spirit of unity, ready to face whatever lies ahead.
